The Ambrosiana Art Gallery

It is the oldest museum of Milan opened in 1618 to house the rich collection of paintings donated by Cardinal Federico Borromeo. Among the masterpieces the "Portrait of Musician" by Leonardo da Vinci, the "Madonna del Padiglione" by Botticelli, Raffaello's "Drawings on Cartoon for the School of Athens", the "Basket of Fruit" by Caravaggio and the "adoration of the Kings" by Tiziano. Until 2015 it will be possible to see the original drawings of Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus. Focusing on a different theme each time, the exhibition will be displaying all the 1.119 folios of the famous Codex.


The visit to the art gallery includes the visit to the exhibition about Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus.
It is possible to purchase a pass that includes the visit to the Ambrosiana Art Gallery together with the Bramante Sacristy in Santa Maria delle Grazie to see the exhibition on Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus.
